The greatest enemy of wood is moisture. Cedar may naturally repel wetness but if it is saturated, this can have a nasty effect. After you install your cedar fence, it is best to treat it immediately with a solution that features protection from UV rays. Make sure you also treat the part of cedar posts that are buried into the ground. You may need to repeat the treatment every three to four years.
